More than 70,000 policemen and women have been protesting in Madrid against the Spanish government’s plans to reform a controversial anti-terror and gagging law.
The protestors say the legislation, which gives Police broad stop and search powers as well limiting the right to public demonstrations, is needed to help protect public safety.
Its opponents including a former United Nations High Commissioner for Human rights say it’s been used to undermine civil liberties.
